Library Card

Users need Library Card (or student ID card) to use the library.
To enter the library, please scan your Library Card at the entrance gate.
When you need Library Card, please apply for Library Card at the Circulation Desk.
*You can also use Library Card in Central Library.


Circulation

All books, materials and journals --- except reference books, rare books, manuscripts, newspapers and latest journals --- are to be taken to the Circulation Desk with your Library Card.
Please return the materials to the Circulation Desk. When the library is closed, please return the materials to the book post.
If you fail to return the materials within the designated period, you will pay penalty for delay.
Because our Book Detection System is working, taking out the materials illegally will cause the alarming sound. Please follow the regulation on taking out.

Locating Materials

All stacks are open for browsing except for a rare books and theses.

Books
There are two call number systems used in the Library:
NLMC(National Library of Medicine Classification)for medical books, and NDC(Nippon Decimal Classification)for non-medical books.

Journals
Journals are shelved in alphabetical order.

You can search the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) for library materials.

Please access from OPAC or our Home Page. Using this portal site, you can use Library Web Service by yourself as follows;
When you use "My Library", you need your Library Card Number (ID) and the password.


Information on Library Services

Reference service:
Please ask our staff for advice, when you are not sure of locating the materials or how to search the database.

Photocopy service:
Coin-operated copiers are available on the 1st and 3rd floor.

Interlibrary Loan:
You may ask for the photocopies of the materials or loan books from other libraries at your expense.
Please fill out the application form.

Using the library of another university:
If you are going to visit the library of another university, you may ask the staff to write a recommendation letter.
