About Us

Niigata University Library consists of Central Library and Medical and Dental Library, and functions as one of the academic information infrastructures supporting education and research activities at each campus.

Central Library, which reopened after extension and reconstruction in April 2013, has extended "Learning Commons", a self-studying area with computers, audio-visual equipments, and foreign language learning materials to support collaborative and voluntary learning of the students.

"Information Lounge," where local people can stop by freely, serves as a place of communication, research results exhibition, and information dissemination to the community.

The Library has also put a lot of effort into establishing "Niigata University Academic Repository (Nuar)", which collects and preserves scholarly information originating from the university and disseminates it worldwide via the Internet.
