【Ended】Living Fossils: The Lingulid Brachiopods

July 24, 2024 – August 31, 2024

Lingulid Brachiopods are known as “living fossils” because they have survived almost unchanged in form since the Cambrian Period, some 500 million years ago.

This exhibition will give visitors an opportunity to learn about the lesser-known members of the Linglid Brachiopod family and introduce the latest research being conducted on the Linglid Brachiopods at Niigata University.

During the exhibition, a stamp rally will be held at Niigata University facilities and Geoparks in Niigata Prefecture, and original gifts will be given away.
